My question involves malpractice in the state of: Arkanasas
My dad had a leaking valve Dec 2015 he had open heart to fix. The day after they said his heart was still leaking and they were going to just watch to see if it sealed itself off. After 4 months of "watching" it they finally sent him to the heart hospital where they tried to use plugs to seal it,..that failed.Before he had the plugs he was already yellow in color from liver failure. It was then we found out that the hospital who did his open heart knew his stitches had came loose and blood was rushing thru the openings at a high rate busting up his blood cells which in turn over a 4 month period caused his organs to be come septic...the heart hospital(not the hospital that did the 1st surgery) at the beginning of May 2016 then went in to repair the leak but it was to late his organs were shutting down and already had to much damage. He died 3 weeks later from infection and his organs never worked no matter what they tried to do the dr there said he already had to massive damage to them before he arrived there. Do i have grounds to file a suit since the first hospital knew his stiches came loose and knew his heart was leaking,..and the result of this breaking up his blood cells shut down his organs and he died from that not his heart,...his heart in the end was strong but his organs were massively damaged.
