My question involves adoption law for the State of: Florida
I'm probably gonna get some rude comments for this, but oh well. Back in 2013 I had my daughter, I was 18. I do not have any clue who her father is. I am the only one on her birth certificate. I recently got married and my husband wants to adopt my daughter. He has helped me raise her since we started dating when she was 6 months old. Am I able to have him adopt her without trying to go through the trouble of finding out who her father is? If I have to figure out who he is, we probably won't ever be able to get this done. Would it make more sense to just add him to her birth certificate and file a name change? I have no idea how to go about any of this. Any help would be appreciated WITHOUT rude comments about my previous life choices. Thank you.
