Spousal Support and Alimony: Support Modification

My question involves a marriage in the state of:california
Hello...I am legally seperated from my husband of 30 years. im in CA and he is in TX. We have been seperated for almost five years. He works in the oil industry and was making alot of overtime money. of course they have cut his hours to 40 hours a week. He has incurred ALOT of debt since we seperated and now does not want to pay spousal support any longer. He served me with papers to stop it, I was awarded permanant support of 2250.00 a month. I have been diagnosed with macular degeneration and only work one day a week due to my sight. I have never worked full time.
i have a couple of questions. He has lived with his girlfriend for the whole time we have been seperated. They first rented a house and then he bought a house and live in it together. My question is can her income be considered in determining my support and his ability to pay it? Im sure they pool their money. I do not want her money just want my spousal support from him! I cant afford an attorney to help with responding to these papers. I spent a fortune getting this seperation.
Thanks so much for your time
