My question involves real estate located in the State of: FL
So my situation is a few months ago I noticed the terrible condition of my back wooden fence, I started what I was hoping to do some minor repairs and found out that it was in much worse condition that I realized and it actually was close to falling apart (the fence was pre-existing from when I purchased the property over 10 years ago) neighbors dog was starting to be able to break into my yard and vice versa, and some of the posts where in danger of collapsing.
I spoke to my neighbor and told them I would replace the fence which I did, didn't ask for any kind of assistance from my neighbor financial or otherwise, I put it in the same exact line it was before, using some of the old post holes, and putting in a few new ones to make sure the fence was up to spec but in my haste didn't get a permit.
So I got cited, told to get a permit, which was fine, permit required a survey, I had no survey, even from my mortgage records, the city didn't have a survey so I got a new one done. I now find out that technically the fence is 9 inches or so into my neighbors plot.
So I'm curious now how much of an issue could this be? I'm submitting my paperwork and hopping for the best just curious what I could expect?
