FACTS: Bob has been working for the last fifteen years and has not EVER filed a tax return, despite making 50,000 per year during that period.
QUESTION: How far back can the IRS attempt to collect Bob's back taxes? Fifteen years? Five years? Three years? I know that three years is the cutoff for taking deductions in regards to late-filed returns, but is there any time period after which back taxes may not be collected by the IRS?
