My question involves paternity law for the State of: North Carolina
I am 49 years old. My mother mis-treated me throughout my youth although she was kind to my four siblings.
13 years ago I was diagnosed with a disease that it was extremely important to know "family history" for safe treatment.
Two years ago she confessed she had an affair and my DNA father is different than my siblings.
I could have died from medical treatment I received not knowing my authentic paternity.
Is there no recourse for an adult child in this case?
