My question involves an injury that occurred in the state of: CA
My uninsured motorist coverage covered the property damage to my car, but didn't cover my rental car, or the broken laptop that slammed into my door panel that was a result of her sideswiping me on the freeway.
I want to take her to small claims to get the money for my laptop and rental car back. She is rejecting my calls and blocking my number. I've texted her requesting her to respond (politely), but she just ignores me.
She had no insurance, but a valid DL and a newer car (registered to someone else). If I file small claims against her, and she doesn't show up to court, am I screwed out of luck? Or can I go after the registered owner of the car?
