My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Florida
I received a speeding ticket and did not notice until I got home, the name is wrong on the ticket. Not a misspelling, completely wrong. The address, DL # and DOB are also wrong - not a minor typo. Only the vehicle registration is correct.
I elected to fight the ticket and had to apply for a court date online. When I applied for a court hearing, the clerk called me and told me the name on the citation did not match my request for the court date. They were very confused how to add this to the court schedule. The court clerk said they do not reissue tickets so I don't think they are amending the ticket.
Ultimately I do have a court date, any advice? If it turns into a battle can I go down the path of the officer's state of mind on the day of the citation (having a bad day, not being able to accurately document the event, etc...) Thanks
