My question involves marriage law for the State of: texas
I need help.
My fiancee and I have been living together for about 8 months. I gave up my career to move and live with him…but quickly found a job that replaced my income.
However, it was a business of mine….gross pay. He said HE would handle all the taxes but he was spending money like crazy. He said he had a “plan”…..
One weekend he threatened suicide (emotional manipulation he later admitted) and I freaked out. I was compassionate but getting my own place quietly, because things seemed so unstable.
I went to the joint checking account and pulled out what he estimated I would owe in biz taxes. (18k). I had given him over 45k in 4 months.
He went nuts. He threatened to sue me….called the bank and basically said I was a thief and even had them suspend the account…instead of close it because that would require my permission.
We got back together and he has DEMANDED i give him that money back so he can pay HIS house taxes. He will not put the money in a joint account. He will automaticaclly pay bills w it.
So if we break up tomorrow…I have zero left. Zero. He says he has had to borrow from his parents to pay bills and he is SO ANGRY that I am not trying to help him….
I am trying to figure out what to do. He says I need to trust him…and he is appalled that I won’t stop “torturing him”
He swears he will mke sure my taxes are paid.
He has called me every name under the sun…for withholding this money. Including telling me he’s considering selling HIS house and living w his parents. He says I have DESTROYED him and his trust in me and he will never have a joint account with him…
All the while…in the last 2 days I have given him 8500 in my business revenue (separate from my 18k)
What would you advise???
