Retailers: Company Mistakenly Refunded Me

My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: Louisiana.

I purchased some work related prizes (online) on my credit card. I provided the recipients with a receipt in case they wanted to exchange.

One lady returned her item, and they mistakenly refunded my credit card. They then charged my card and gave her a gift card. That charge was reversed by Best Buy 2 days later.

Calling Best Buy has gotten me no where. Calling discover has gotten me no where.

I'm keen to get this issue solved because I've been reimbursed for the prizes and I'm pretty sure it's legally/ethically fraudulent to benefit from a store mistake. However, before I waste further time, who should I be taking this up with? My credit card company or the store itself?

Can I get into trouble for this legally and how can I protect myself? I WANT best buy to just cancel out the last refund but I have no explanation other than their own system reversed it so it's not really a refund, it's more the purchase didn't go through.
