My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Ohio.
I was at a place for almost two years, after careful thought, I decided to find a new job due to the hours I was being forced to work. I found a new job, gave two weeks notice and started my new job.
After six days in the new place, the General Manager let me know that I was "not a good fit" for the company, and I was being "let go".
I applied for unemployment after receiving my last paycheck. It's now 50 days later and I have just received my initial decision. I was denied my unemployment for quitting the original job without good cause. However there was no mention of me being fired from the new job I had started.
At this point, I am now working full time again, so I would only collect the previously claimed weeks and nothing going forward.
If I was let go, then why does it matter that I quit my previous job? Should I even bother with an appeal for the $2500 in weeks I claimed? I really do need the money.
