My question involves name change laws in the State of: Texas. I am wondering what steps I would have to take in order to remove one of my daughters last name. When she was born I gave her my last name and his last name, the one big problem is he's NEVER been around and she has absolutely no idea who he is. He is continuously in and out of jail and my daughter is getting older and I would go remover his last name before she has to start right her name on legal documents. His name is not on the birth certificate but paternity has been established he is her biological father but no child support nor medical support was ever order due to him being in jail. He has never paid me and has never tried to get I touch with her. So I'm wanting to know is the right and legal way to go out removing the name. Thanks for any help!
