Appeals: Should I file an appeal or no?

My question involves traffic court in the State of: CA

I contested a traffic ticket (CVC 21209.A3) and lost. The officer stated that I was 250 feet in the bike lane and that he was behind me. I questioned how far the officer was in the same lane that night and he then stated that he was in the lane next to the bike lane. I tried to get the commissioner to see that the officer could not have known my distance since he couldn't recall the events correctly and had no proof. I even showed pictures of the lane at night and daytime.

Is there any chance I would win an appeal based on the commissioner siding with the officer towards the end of the trial when he said that the officer wasn't in the bike lane behind me? I know he was behind me for sure within 200 feet of the bike lane.

Also the court clerk said I lost my chance to go to traffic school when I went to trial. I didn't realize that I couldn't ask for traffic school at the end of the trial because the commissioner made his final decision after submission and the ruling was mailed to me. Is there anyway to avoid the point on my record?
