My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Virginia
So today I accidentally hit a pole while I was in a parking lot. I was cited for "reckless driving in a parking lot". No other drivers/cars were hit My court date is in March. The officer said that the misdemeanor charges will likely be reduced to a traffic infraction and that I can take driving school. The officer who was at the scene for the pole-hitting situation said he was on my side and would help tell the story so that he could help me with reducing the charges.
However, in November (about two months ago) I had gotten a regular speeding ticket for going 75 in a 65. This court date is in a few weeks.
I was planning on taking driving school for the speeding ticket, but now that I have this reckless I'm just not sure what to do. Will paying the speeding ticket (not going to court) reduce my chances of being offered driving school for the pole-hitting? Obviously I really don't want a misdemeanor on my record (I'm applying to professional schools and these dumb mistakes could really just shatter all my aspirations). My record is completely clean besides all of this.
Any advice?
