Termination of Support: Can a Non Custodial Parent Request/Obtain Emancipation for Termination of Support

My question involves child support in the State of: Mississippi
A little background - My child is 19 unemployed, quit school but working on trying to join the military. Majority age in Mississippi is 21. I have been TRYING to get into court with my ex since my son turned 16. Our divorce decree stated he was to pay half of vehicle, insurance and related expenses. I am now up to roughly $10,000 he owes me (almost 4 yrs worth of unpaid bills). Last year before right before our court date he filed bankruptcy and listed what he owes me to be included. I hired a bankruptcy attorney to get it discharged. Now court was set up to begin next week and he has filed for emancipation of my child. I honestly believe it is just so he can quit paying child support and keeping medical insurance on my child. I am aware that when my child joins the military that will happen, but we are still waiting for medical waivers to go through so there have been no papers signed. I feel like it will probably be March of next year due to ADD medications. Any advice on if the ex can do this? or how to stop it? I do have an attorney, have not been able to have this conversation with her yet. Was looking for information to go in with?
Thank you!
