Expungement and Sealing: South Carolina Forgery Expungement

My question involves criminal records for the state of: South Carolina

In 1998 when I was 21, I was convicted of forgery and breach of trust for signing someone's name on a check. It was less than $1000, I can't remember the exact amount and it's not listed on my SLED report. Back in 1998, it was classified as a felony. The laws have since changed, and it's now a misdemeanor. It was my first and only offense, I've never been in any legal trouble since. I'm now 40, would like to restore my rights, and I'm in the beginning stages of an adoption, so I'd really like to get this removed from my record if possible. I have no idea if I was convicted under the Youthful Offenders Act, I don't recall that ever being mentioned back then. But I don't know if the YOA in SC is something that's automatic depending on the charge and offender age. Does anyone know if this is possible to be expunged?
