Speeding Tickets: Why Would a Judge Take More Than a Month to Make a Decision on a Speeding Ticket

I had a trial at a traffic court for a speeding ticket in June. At the end of the trial, the judge told me that he will make a decision by the end of June and will mail his written decision to my address. Contrary to what he said, the judge made a decision on my case in August and found me guilty. Why did the judge need that many days to make a decision on a speeding ticket?

Anyone with similar experience where judge took a month or two months or longer to make a decision on a speeding ticket?

No trolling and snide remarks, please. Thank you.
