My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: CA
I have been employed by my current co for 9 years now. Recently I was told my job in this BU will be eliminated as part of a general company reorganization and was encouraged to apply for similar jobs within the large Organization. I am a "mature" employee and have a lot of expertise in my field of specialty. I applied for 5 positions within the larger corporation and was not selected for any of them, even though I met or exceeded the requirements for those positions. I was interviewed for only 2 of those 5 positions, the others I just got a "dear John" letter and in some cases just total silence. My work record is excellent with no performance blemishes or other issues.
