My question involves criminal law for the state of: Oregon.
I posted this in a different category, but I think this might be a better fit. Not sure if it is appropriate to post in another category or if I can delete.
My question involves a short video clip that I took of a neighbor (and public official) who I have a prior dispute with. I was walking home from the mailbox, passing his house. He came out onto his porch and began verbally assaulting me. Halfway through I pulled out my phone. He acknowledged that I was using a "camera" but he kept going for 30 more seconds. I held the phone up and it was obvious he was being recorded. I posted the clip to a closed Facebook forum for a short period. He is now threatening to sue me. Do I have any First Amendment protection here? It was a public area with no expectation of privacy. What are the consequences for me in this situation? Thanks...
