Speeding Tickets: Ticketed at the Bottom of a Hill

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Colorado

I was just ticketed in an unfamiliar part of my state (I was honestly a little lost). I was going downhill on a 10% grade. The hill ended at a stop light, the cop clocked me a block away from the stop light, the radar he showed me said I was doing 40 in a 25. After taking my license and registration, the cop came back with a ticket that put me in the 5 - 9 miles over range, the ticket says I was doing 34 MPH. (Which I guess was nice of him, but I'm hoping that difference between what's on the ticket and what was on the radar might help my case in court ...)

I was honestly so turned around, just trying to get back to a familiar road that I didn't see the speed limit posted. (I live in Denver county - there are virtually no hills on my side of town. Adams county is another story, though.) But I drove back around to try the hill again and I had to break HARD and multiple times going down that hill to get in the 25 MPH range.

I can't find much on the legality of the use of radar guns on hills in the state of Colorado. I am just curious if I have any hope disputing this ticket in court. I've lucked out in life and this is my first ticket ever, so I would appreciate any help! Thank you in advance!
