I am new to this forum and this posting is for my brother.
Recently about a month ago or so, my brother ( lets just call him John ) was caught giving away free stuff at his workplace ( which I would like to keep undisclosed ).
He has been working here for maybe half a year or so. He gave stuff away to random people and some friends. When they caught him, they had him go to the office where they questioned him and later on arrested him. They asked him questions like, '' why did you do it'' and other questions as well. He did not answer to any of their questions. I believe that they found out by security cameras and maybe even other ways and was arrested and was later on released a day later and is now awaiting a court trial ( by the way he is 18 ).
John's workplace accuses of him giving away thousands of dollars worth of stuff which to his knowledge he didn't take. To his knowledge, he knows that he gave about a maximum amount of $1200 worth of stuff away or maybe even less. I'm assuming that they are accusing him for the other items that have been stolen by others around the same time phase as him. They also told him that what he did was a felony.
My brother found a new job and he's working pretty hard and trying to save up to wait to see how much they are going to charge him and what not. His main issue he is worried about is that he may incarcerated. His record is clean and has never committed anything else.
If possibly answered, what will most likely happen to him in his case and will the people that he gave away stuff to for free be prosecuted?
