My question involves a child custody case from the State of: CA
My husband just filed for a divorce. We have a 1 year old son together. Not proud of admitting this but I had a suicide attempt in April this year (because my husband was emotionally abusing me, cut me off monies [I am a stay at home mom], cut off phone and Internet and basically kept me isolated. I became very afraid of him (he has a history of drug abuse but has been clean for at least 3 years).
Now that we are divorcing, will the attempt in April affect my chances of getting custody of our son?
As a side note: I have never ever ever attempted suicide. I am an immigrant who moved here 2 years ago but my husband became very controlling and started isolating me and that put a lot of stress on my mental and emotional well being.
