My fiance and I purchased a house on a land contract about 2 to 3 years ago. His parents lent us the initial down payment and we made the monthly payments. Less than a year ago we split up and I left everything, we have 2 children and I wanted it to be as least disruptive to them as it could be. I was told recently by him that he had my name removed from the house without my knowledge using an abandonment law. Can he legally do this without my consent? Does he have to buy me out if I do not agree to sign my name off the house? What are my legal options?
