Incorrect Add Me As a Dependent on My Parent Tax Return

Hello,

I have a question about resolving this tax filing issue. I filed my tax return for the year of 2015 and pay the amount I owed to the IRS. However, the accountant who file the tax return for 2015 for my parent did not advise them not to add my name as a dependent (I am 26 at the time, and so when I submit the tax return to 2015, IRS for some reason said they did not receive my tax return and showed that I have a credit, which is the exact amount I owed and paid when I filed my 2015 tax. Per my parent's accountant, she said my parents have to pay about $1000 to remove my name as a dependent, so that I can submit my 2015 tax again.

I was wondering whether I should go through removing my name and pay the penalty, and then submit my tax return again. Is there any problems if I can just submit my 2015 tax return again, because even though my parent added me as a dependent, since I am already older than 26 and having a job, they did not received any tax refund, even with me added on their 2015 tax return? Is there anyway not to pay the fee even though I paid the money I owed and that parent also did not received any refund even with my name added as a dependent.

Sorry for the long explaination, I hope it makes sense.

Thank you for any helps!
