Custody and Visitation Issues: Relocation During Early Stages of Custody Dispute

My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Louisiana

We are currently in Louisiana with a 2 year old, and have lived here more than a year. My soon to be ex girlfriend are separating and going to file for custody soon. We are unmarried, but have signed the "Paternity Acknowledgement Affidavit" in SC where she was born. She has already had a consultation with a lawyer, and I have an appointment Wednesday.

I have two questions:

1) She is threatening to move to NY with our daughter, with or without a court order against it. She says that she is unable to support herself here in state and has no financial help to stay. She believes that regardless of what the court says, they will not hold her here in Louisiana as she would be basically homeless. Is that true? What if she gets an attorney?

2) Her and our daughter currently reside in our home. After consultation with a lawyer, she told me that they said if she were to file now, she would have to be moved out by the court date, or else they would throw it out of court. I'm not exactly sure when, or if, she is leaving for NY. Besides filing for custody, is there anything else to restrict her from leaving the state with our daughter?
