My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: North Carolina.
I got a speeding ticket (78/60):( in VA but my license is from NC and I paid the ticket immediately not knowing that this ticket could be a reason for suspension (now I have read that its better not paying the ticket and attend court to get a reduction). Two months later, I received a suspension letter from NC DMV with option to preliminary hearing conducted by mail. I requested the preliminary hearing and then I got a second letter stating that I have to summit the written summary and measures I have taken to improve my driving skills (which I assume is a defensive driving course) by September 26. My question is how to write the summary for the pre-hearing (what to say and what not to) in order to get the ticket dismissed? What is the chance of getting the suspension dismissed without a lawyer? This is my firs ticket ever, and I have had a pretty clean driving record since I started driving in the US three years ago.
