My question involves criminal law for the state of:
in California- In getting fingerprinted recently for my job, I was informed I have a charge of being under the influence of a controlled substance from 2002 that is open. I was a passenger in my friends car and the police arrested him for not having a license and charged me with under the influence. (even though I wasn't doing anything wrong but getting a ride home.) I was scared and gave a fake name to the officer (which I was booked under) and why it hasn't came up before. I have never been in trouble before and this charge is over 15 years old what kind of consequences could I be facing if I turn myself in or make a court date for it??
