Hello, so I work at the local mall in Florida and a few months ago a parking space was made for veterans founded by an association. Whenever I go to work I try to find the closest parking space to the mall entrance so when I leave at night I can get to my car quickly. At this mall people park between disabled parkings where the white stripes are, and they park on places where there are yellow stripes, and in front of loading zones, and pretty much where ever else they feel like it. So, the veterans parking is very close to the parking space and I've noticed that only one person ever used that parking space, meaning he works at the mall as well. Sometimes, when I see that he is not there I park in the veterans parking space. I understand that I should not, but it does not say anywhere that if I park there that I will be towed. I've parked there many times before hand and the security guard has never done anything.
However, today I saw that the space was empty so I parked there, but when I got out of work I had a citation that said that if I park there next time I will be towed away for illegal parking and that my license plate was recorded. Can they actually tow away my car even if does not say anywhere that if you're not a veteran you will be towed. No where on the sign does it mention that violaters will be towed. So would it be illegal for them to tow me if I park there?
