I just need to move out quickly from my apartment because of family emergency.
I'm on month-to-month contract and the contract says I need to give them 30 day notice before I move out. So they're charging me May's rental fee because I told them on April 3rd.
However, the Pennsylvania state rental law says I need to give notice to terminate tenancy 15 days prior to move out if I'm on month-to-month contract (68 P.S. §§ 250.501(b)).
Can I argue with apartment regarding this issue to avoid May's rental fee?
Thank you in advance for your advice.
