Traffic Lights, Signs and Controls: How to Argue Against Uturn

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Washington

I was going down a street that has posted no UTurn signs.

At the end of the road (Going South on 152 ND Ave SE) is a rounded area similar to a cul-de-sac but different.

See view of cul-de-sac here:

Anyway so instead of doing UTurn I parked kind of under this tree, which was a left turn from the main road. I stopped and got out my GPS to figure out if there was an through street back to the highway. There wasn't. So I drove straight ahead and slightly to the left to come to a stop at the stop sign also shown in that map. I then turned on my right turn signal to go back down the road I came up originally. So I'm sitting there waiting for an opening (Lots of cars on that road) and there's been a police officer watching me the whole time. He comes up to me and gives me a ticket for doing a Uturn?

In my mind though, isn't a Uturn when you are going down a road and then you turn sharply and the end result of that sharp turn is you are going back down the opposite way you just came?

For me, the fact that I was now stopped at a stop sign with my right turn signal on, in order to turn back down the road I was originally on, is by definition not a UTurn?

But my question is how do I present that in Court? The Officer just says it was a UTurn.. how do I fight that misconception? I can show a picture of the area and diagram out the steps I took, but as anyone reading this is probably thinking it is hard to describe that path. But maybe visual aides will help?

Anyway, if anyone has any ideas would be good to hear.

Thanks,
Terry
