The state of CA uses the TLF (Total Loss Formula) to determine if a vehicle is totaled. My truck is worth $21,000 and the repairs $14,000. I want the truck to be a total loss but my insurance says the repairs have to be 80% of the value and that they don't have to use California's TLF system. Are they allowed to not follow CA's TLF system?
