My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: PA
I apologize to all who reads this as it's a bit discombobulated and meandering.. but here goes.. :)
I have been without a license for some time now due a DUI and have been eligible to get it back as of June 2016. I have fulfilled all of my jail time, I paid my fines. I am not on probation. My suspension time has been fulfilled. My problem now is that PennDOT has not received any sort of acknowledgement that I have a breathalyzer on a car that my aunt is letting me borrow. I have had insurance on the car since June as well.
The vendor swears up and down that they have sent the DL-21SC to PennDOT multiple times since I got it installed in July. I give it a month to call PennDOT to see if they received the form but sadly, every time they say they have not.
My question is, can I get any sort of legal help on this matter? Every time I call PennDOT, they say they'll call me back within 2-4 business days to figure out what the issue is. They have never given me a call back yet and I am forced to call them back after 7 business days and still the same thing every time.
The last thing on my restorations letter states is that I must have a breathalyzer installed to get my permit again. Are there lawyers that specify with this stuff or is this something that is up to the vendor and PennDOT to figure out? Can I get a police officer friend to go with me to the DMV to say it's installed? Hell, I even have a buddy that works for the FBI that could vouch for me, but according to PennDOT, that's not enough!
*Please note, I have zero issues having the breathalyzer being installed, I have no issues paying for it, and have no issue having it on my car for a year. I just want PennDOT to acknowledge that I have the darn thing installed so I can get my permit again, and then get ignition interlock license.
