My question involves personal property located in the State of: California
I used to live with my bf and in 2015 December we broke up and moved our belongs to the storage with the agreement of him paying the storage fee and moving fee of my belongs from San Francisco to Los Angeles once I get a place in LA.
In February 2016, I went back to sf to check our storage and our belongs we're fine. I spoke with my ex and everything seems ok.
In April 2016, I got a place in Los Angeles and ready to move my belongs from Sf storage but I called the storage and I get a message that my storage unit was gone/sold/auctioned! What a surprise, all my belongs since I was 15 years old was gone!!! (Clothes, pictures, letters, books, laptop, documents,etc). My ex was out of U.S. at the moment but in the mid time he was sending me pictures and I noticed the hat he was using was in the storage).. I guess he took his belongs before the storage got sold and never told me anything, not even told me that he was not paying the storage fee).
I contact my ex after knowing that the storage was sold and I told him that I needed a financial help. He agreed in getting me the furniture that I need to my place, I was ok too.
In September 2016 when I was ready to get the furnitures to my place he ignored all my emails and text messages. he is ignoring me now. What are my rights? What can I do to get my lost belongs?
