Yesterday, I hit a parked car in a parking lot on Private Property. I was in an F150, and I hit a car.
I Immediately went to the Police Reporting Centre to report this accident, I didn't know the information of the other vehicle, nor did I leave a note. They told me it was a hit and run because I left the scene. The Police said I have over $2000 worth of damage to my truck and I know that the other car had way more because the bumper was damaged of the car
However, I went back to the Parking Lot, and the car was still there, I left a note stating I reported the accident to the police and gave my name and number, I even wrote it on the Police Reporting pamphlet. I immediately called the reporting centre and gave them the licence plate # of the car I hit.
Is this still considered a hit and run?
How will I know if I got charged?
