Divorce in California

My question involves a marriage in the state of: California

I filed for Divorce Last year around May 2016 my husband left me and 4 year old, signed and sent back the documents to court. July of 2016 my husband went back home weve decided to give it a try so i left the divorce pending...
But now Going thru with divorce, its just not working anymore. I am working fulltime and i take home $2500.00 a month, my husband is an RN he works 2 jobs and monthly income is around $8000-$11,000 a month. We have a 4 year old together and this really breaks my heart :(. My husband pays for everything at home (we live in an apartment). About $5000.00 a month is the overall expense (his bmw x5, our rent, his bills, his jiu jitsu class, tuition, his loans etc.) The money i make is enough to pay 2 of my student loans, my phone bill, my gas, some groceries and my kid swim lesson. About $340 left after everything. My question is...can i ask for spousal support? When i filed it i didnt ask for any spousal support. Can i go back and make changes? Atleast Till i can pass my boards. I dont plan to make it hard on him i am just being honest but he put me in a very very bad situation esp financially. I am already working fulltime but i cannot afford rent for me and my kid. He also said that child support is $600.00 only and that no way he will be paying more. I cant even afford to get a lawyer and maybe i don't even need one. What do i do? Our divorce is pending...i have to go back to finish the other part of it...Please any advice.
