The other day I received my first ever ticket and of all things it was due to an expired license. I had just moved around the time it expired (less than a year ago) and I never got the renewal notice. Obviously, this is entirely my fault and I completely shoulder the blame for it. Immediately after I got the ticket I took steps to renew my license (I had it renewed the very next day that the DMV was open) and got it all taken care of. Now that my arraignment is just a few days away can I get a gauge of what some of the consequences might be? The possible jail time coupled with getting a misdemeanor on my record are incredibly worrying to me as I've been working quite hard to get into law school. So, my question is, should I plead guilty? Do I really have any other option? As I've said, I've managed to correct the error and it was an honest mistake on my part. Any input would be appreciated.
