I needed a loan on my wedding ring which is insured thru my home owners policy. I took out the loan with intent to return to get my item. I went to retrieve my loan before the default date and the pawn shop has "lost" the ring. The ring replacement value is according to the paperwork $9000. What is the proper route? This is a corporate pawn shop and has admitted fault and are working to resolve but not giving me much details on how that is going to play out. Should I contact my insurance company? I made an incident report with the police the day I went to pick it up and they did not have my items.
