Hiring: Conflict of Interest

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: North Carolina

I am currently working as a security guard at company A that works for

Company B. Company B has openings for employment with a considerable pay

Increase to what im currently making at A.

If i were hired by company B am i at risk of conflict of interest?

If so, what steps can I take to prevent myself from being sued.
