My question involves an injury that occurred in the state of: California
My son was injured 2 years ago when a car hit him while he was crossing the road in a pedestrian walkway. Driver admitted fault.
Fortunately, not a major accident; $4300 in chiropractic bills, but otherwise my son is fine.
I would like to make a claim against the driver's insurance company.
Is it a simple case of demanding a 2 x multiplier of the medical costs (namely, in this case, $8,600)?
What about the fact that he had to lose valuable school time?
And I, as his parent, lost many hours of work time, taking him to the chiropractic appointments? (I am self employed, but have a website, which shows my hourly rate).
Many thanks!
