Traffic Accidents: Recorded Statement to the Other Persons Insurance

Hi,

I'm looking for advice about a car accident I was involved in. Should I give a recorded statement to the other persons insurance adjuster? Everything that I've read online says no but I'd still like advice. The car accident is complicated. The other driver honked at me when I was slowing down to turn. I caught up with him and flipped him off and honked. He pulled over let me pass and started following me. I turned on a side road and it was obvious that he was purposefully following me. I sped up, turned around and proceeded to go back the other way to my house. As I passed him he swerved at me. I know this was a purposeful swerve intended to scare me. At this time I swerved to avoid hitting him, lost control of my car and hit a third vehicle. No injuries, but my car is totaled and the vehicle I hit had significant damage. A representative from my insurance said that they are trying to determine fault and that I should give a recorded statement to the other persons insurance. I have already given a recorded statement to my insurance.

Would there be any benefit for giving a recorded statement to the other persons insurance? I had only liability insurance so I'm trying to figure out a long term solution to my transportation needs. Is there a chance the other guys insurance would help me get another car and would giving a recorded statement help that?

On a personal note my life is in shambles. Not just from the car accident but from living in poor conditions for the last 4 years, working low wage menial jobs to survive and a massive amount of debt from college that is difficult to pay down under my circumstances. I have a bachelors degree and an associates and I'm trying to get things back in order and get on with my life but I really don't want to deal with this accident.

Thanks
