My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Washington
My wife received a citation for speeding (50 in a 30). The citation says the incident happened at Thor and 17th.
Two problems with this.
1, my wife was never on Thor. Thor only goes from 24th to 18th in this area, she would have had to deviate from Ray (the road she was actually on) to get to Thor and then return back to Ray to continue on. Unless she was chasing down a yard sale or going around a really bad traffic jam, there would be no reason to take this detour.
2, Thor stops at 18th. There is no such intersection as Thor and 17th.
Do we have the ability to contest this ticket on these grounds? If so, what wording should she use with the judge? We have already requested a contested hearing, have a court date, requested and received discovery.
Failing this defense, I would appreciate any help with understanding the radar portion of the evidence. It appears that the officer filed his paperwork the same day as the infraction, so I don't think we'll get any relief there.
Thanks,
