My question involves vehicle registration or title in the state of: NC
I just wanted to know if, in NC, you can end up with a misdemeanor criminal record for driving with an expired registration. I can't seem to find a solid answer on the web anywhere. I do know that after a 15 day "grace" period, for which you will be charged a fee, or fine, when you go to pay for your sticker, you can be ticketed for your "past the 15 day grace period" expired registration. But how serious is this? Is it a required court appearance? Can you end up with a criminal (misdemeanor) record? Can court be waived and a fine simply be paid instead? Can anyone help with this, and any other relevant details? It would surely be appreciated!
Thanks!!
