My question involves paternity law for the State of: Maine
A female had a child,told my,husband he may be the father between him and 4 other guys well she contacted him 2 weeks after the,child was born said I think he's yours then called 2 days later said someone else signed the birth certificate he wasnt mine the timing didnt add up and a DNA test was being done, probably 6months goes by she contacted saying the test cane,back positive for the other guy and the,child wasn't my husbands... Now the child turned 3 in January his mother contacted us saying she lied a test was never done and she sees my husband every time she looks at her son but every time a at home test is scheduled to happen she backs out..we've spoke to the other guy who said she swore the child was his which is why he signed 2 weeks after the child was born. Shes now with a completely new man whos playing daddy and won't even let the guy on the birth certificate see him...She said there's nothing we can do about this to prove the child,is or isnt my husbands by DNA testing so what can we do and can't she face a lot of legal trouble?
