My question involves paternity law for the State of: California
My wife and I have been separated for over a year. We filed for a summary dissolution which is due to finalize around the end of April. After we filed, my wife realized she was 3 months pregnant by her new partner.
From what I understand, as the child will be born while we are still married, it will be presumed mine and my name automatically added to the birth certificate.
Here are my questions:
1. Is there a way in which I can ensure my name remains off the birth certificate?
2. If the above is not possible, how should my wife get the fathers name on the birth certificate updated post birth?
