My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: California
Ok, so i was living in CA and had some tickets i couldn't afford and they suspended my license. I got a job driving a tow truck trying to make payments to GC services but ended up getting pulled over about 3 times in a couple years for driving while suspended. I owed them about $6,000 at this point. I moved out of state to ND and cant get my license here because of it. So i have been driving anyway to work and home saving all my money. I have the $6,000 now to give them but the DMV in CA says that i need SR-22 filed in CA because the points on my record i racked up while living there. So my question is do i have to file SR-22 in CA and then have a seperate insurance policy filed for the state i am now living in? I tried asking insurance companys and they all said "i dont know, try a broker" whatever that means. I am new to this and am not sure how to go about it but ND needs CA to take the hold off before they will issue me a license, and then if they take it off i'm guessing i still need to pay for the SR-22 in CA for 2-3 years while paying for insurance on my car in ND? Does it work as 1 policy? Please help as nobody i have talked to over the phone is any help so far.
