My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: PA
I purchased a slightly used motorhome from state of PA. The seller took me to his Attorney who completed the title and notarized it as well. In the odometer section, their Attorney by mistake wrote 20,204 miles, instead of the actual 2,024 odometer reading. Upon my pointing, the attorney tried to overwrite the typo but as you'd expect it looks messier. The attorney said no worries and wrote a separate statement on a paper that the correct odometer is indeed 2,024 miles and both attorney and the seller signed that statement.
I think DMV offices will not accept a scratched out title, and while their attorney assured me it wouldn't be an issue, I have my worries on that. Do you think that separate attorney statement will do the remediation for the title odometer reading scratch-out?
