Compensation and Overtime: Sign New Hire Paperwork Before Discussing Pay

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Indiana
I worked for a family owned collision center. It was announced without warning that it was sold to a large multi shop collision company. The new company wants us to fill out all the new hire paperwork and send it in within two days of them taking over the company. Nobody has told us what our pay will be. Every time you ask someone, anyone, the verbatim response is always "We don't want anyone to go backwards. Your pay is not going to change for now."

Yet there has been no discussion other than that regarding pay nor any paperwork signed to agree to a pay rate.
Should I sign this new hire paperwork not knowing anything other than the verbal "We don't want anyone to go backwards. Your pay is not going to change for now."???

From what I'm reading from other people who have been with companies taken over by them, they lower their pay later. Often drastically lower.
What are my options and what should I do? I'm not comfortable signing anything without my pay being in writing.

Thank you for your advice.
