Speeding Tickets: Speeding Misdemeanor - Need

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: CT

I was pulled over yesterday for doing 64 in a 25 (Stupid and careless i know). I doubt I was traveling that fast, but obviously cant contend as I was not paying attention to the speed obviously (I wouldnt doubt high 50's). I had just come off a road where the speed limit is 45, and the average rate of speed I was traveling on is approximately 40-45 MPH, so nobody really goes 25 MPH there. Not that it matters, it was still dumb to be driving as fast as I was even for a slight second. I slowed down before I got to the cop to approximately 30MPH, so I was only traveling that rate of speed for maybe 5 seconds are so. Again, not an excuse just stating the facts.

I have never been pulled over, never been given a ticket, never been in an accident, and never been in trouble with the law for any other reason in 7 years of driving. It is my first offence.

This took place in the state of CT and I was giving a Misdemeanor Summons and Complaint and the offence is Speeding (14-219(c)).
I've talked to Cops and am waiting to hear back from a lawyer who is a family friend as to whether I even need a lawyer for this offence. Do any of you have any other advice?

Thanks.
