My question involves vehicle registration or title in the state of: California
My son purchased a car from a prior co-worker. He told him that the car would pass smog, it hasn't and he is unable to register the car. There have been a couple of parking tickets and he wants my son to pay them and my son told him he would once he got the car smogged and gave him the title so he can register it. He has everything on email, all communication. The seller is now threatening to call the Police and claim the car was stolen. The car was paid in Cash, but emails detail that he paid him. What can we do?
