My question involves criminal law for the state of: Southern California
My husband was sentenced to 2 LWOPs, here in Southern California back in 1999. A new law was recently passed, SB 261, which he fits all the criteria, except for the fact that he has the "WOP" attached to his sentence. How can I look for someone who can have him resentenced so that he can qualify 100% under this law. Even if he just had Life, but the "WOP" is the part what excludes him from being eligible under this law. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Also, the SB9, law does not pertain to him, because they have not yet extended the age parameters over 18 like they did for SB 260.
Again, Thank you in advance for any advice.:encouragement:
